Is looking for
TRANSLATOR
Project “Rail Baltica Riga railway bridge, railway embankment and Riga Central Passenger Station design and build”
Responsibilities:
• Interprets written or spoken material from Latvian to English and vice versa, ensures that meaning and context are maintained;
• Transformation of visual files (.jpg, .pdf) to text-based files (.docx, xlsx, etc.);
• Translates a variety of documents including legal, research, technical, scientific, educational, and commercial materials;
• Consults with subject matter experts and other colleagues in order to understand specialized concepts and translate them appropriately;
• Proof-reading of the translations;
• Development and maintenance of translation memories and term vocabularies.
Requirements:
• Fluency in English, written and verbal communication;
• Good translation skills LV-EN, EN-LV;
• Accuracy and attention to detail;
• Software proficiency;
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure;
• Advantage: Experience using OCR and CAT tools.
